On the 4th anniversary of Volker Iron Lungs Frerichs death, "Total Maniac" will chime from the abysses into the realms of reality to bring horror and damnation for one last time as a deafening echo of Iron Lungs eerie dirge.
Patrick Walker returns with Warning - "Rituals of Shame" echoes the enduring themes and fixations that have marked most of his work: guilt, shame, personal failure, obsession, longing, and separation, but, most of all, he says, love.

Led by guitarist and vocalist Patrick Walker, every moment of Warning's "Watching from a Distance" feels monumental - the album is widely considered to be one of the most emotionally-driven and profoundly Doom Metal records.

A lesson in plunderphonics. Album no. 13 since the start 25 years ago, this one is something else: a mixtape/mashup to celebrate brilliant bandleader, pianist, mystic, philosopher and Afro-Futurist Sun Ra.

Now making its debut on vinyl, When's "Trippy Happy" brings back a sound that hasn't been heard since the late 60s, as it explores folky pop ballads, banjo lullabies, baroque psychedelia, and industrial cartoon surrealism.
A musical universe made up of the melancholy of The Cure and the onírica textures of Echo and The Bunnymen, mixed with strong Joy Division/New Order influences.
The long awaited debut album by Brussels based Post-Punk outfit, produced by Micha Volders and mixed by Bert Libeert. The band’s first major release since their incredibly successful EP "Endless Party" in 2015.
Having retreated to the Ardennes during the summer, the band took the strongest parts of their old work and refined them even further. Where "Image" was theatrical and widescreen, this time around they focused more on sheer, unpretentious intensity.

Following the dark, expansive power of previous works, "The Great Calm" represents a reimagining and rethinking, though this growth has produced a series of songs that are still defiantly and uniquely true to the group.

The 5th in this special series of Whitehouse Legacy reissue CDs, this time in the form of 1981’s incredibly bleak and chilling "Buchenwald", an album demonstrating a raw, haunting electricity following the direct harshness of "Dedicated To Peter Kurten".
A confrontational Power Electronics artifact from 1982, long lost to myth. Spanish narration profiles notorious killers, then abrasive feedback, pulsing rhythms, and tape manipulation deliver ritualistic, psychologically oppressive fury.
With "Dommedagskvad", WR have clearly succeeded to combine all elements of the so called “True Norwegian Black Metal” yet perfecting it their own way. It’s nothing new, yet so honest, well crafted and unique sounding it’s hard not to be drawn into it.
A record filled to the brim with sulphurous, epic Black Metal as come to be expected from Whoredom Rife by this point, yet holding a more sinister approach than previous works.

Basinski's dense textures and softly pulsing tones continually drift around one another in gradually shifting plains of sound, creating new and constantly evolving variations yet never deviating from what defines its essential sentiment...
A new composition featuring a recently discovered tape loop melody from the earliest piano and tape experiments, from Basinski's early days as a composer, c. 1979.
One of Basinski’s most celebrated works, dating back to 1982, spawned from a fruitful evening of live experimentation in the studio after a day of work at the answering service...
One of Basinski's darkest pieces, even more so than "The Garden of Brokenness". A pensive and cavernous exercise, with its gaze set on darkness, as if you are listening to the entirety of history stretch and warp through time.
Dating 1983, "The River" consists of two long suites, both based upon the superimposition of long loops of found sounds and shortwaves. The idea was to have a piece which could repeat endlessly creating an eternal, meditative womb of tranquility.
Using a lilting piano melody on a small loop, the requisite magic happened in the recording process when this particular loop would randomly slip along the play head revealing an extraordinary counterpoint (in reverse) on the other side of the tape.
Very tranquil, somnolent ambient meditation. Completely conceived on the Voyetra synthesizer, it's a delicate cross of gentle intertwining melodies and cricket-like frequencies that instantly caress the nerves, inducing a state of relaxation and serenity.
Basinski plunges deeper than ever for the plaintive, solitary eulogy to David Bowie, aptly titled “For David Robert Jones.” Conversely, the title track, “A Shadow In Time,” is a subtle, celestial escalation of melody and drone.
A suite of commissioned works which utilize, among other things, exclusive source recordings from the interferometers of LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) capturing the sounds of the merging of two distant massive black holes.
Basinski’s reputation as the foremost producer of profound meditations on death and decay has long been established, but on "Lamentations" he transforms operatic tragedy into abyssal beauty, haunted by an ominous grief throughout the album.
Deploying a delicate piano passage from their collective archive, Basinski and Schaefer weave and reweave in numerous ways, forging an iridescent flurry of flickering melodies on this long-distance collaboration which took eight years to complete.
A recently unearthed early entry in what has become a hugely inspirational and influential catalog. Built from a piano piece that Basinski composed in high school in the mid-1970s, "September 23rd" quickly evolved into a vastly different work. Lim. 1500x.

On Windir’S fourth and final full-length, many of the Folk elements that characterized the band’s previous records were pushed to the background in favor of a stronger Black Metal influence and a much darker and brooding atmosphere.
Windir’s debut "Sóknadalr" was released in 1997, and one can immediately recognize the trademark Sognametal style from this cult classic, featuring the synth melodies combined with raw Black Metal, harsh and clean vocals, inspired by sweeping vistas.
Regarded today as a hallmark in the Folk/Viking Black Metal scene, the influence of Windir’s sophomore record is not to be underestimated and could be compared to that of Bathory in its combination of icy riffs and building atmosphere with epic melodies.
Windswept turn historical testimony into sonic ritual. Inspired by The Black Book of Kremenets Castle (1747–1777), the album reconstructs the witch trials of 1753–1754 in Western Ukraine through six movements of stark, visceral Black Metal.

With a more sequence based sound, Wir saw the band breaking all their own rules by creating a new sparse electronic music with Graham Lewis singing most of the vocals and even cannibalising their own catalogue by sometimes sampling themselves.
