"Telekon" was released in 1980 and was Numan’s third successive #1 album in the UK. Unlike its predecessor, "The Pleasure Principle", "Telekon" had plenty of guitars, along with strings and lush synthesizer textures.
"The Pleasure Principle" pioneered Electronic Pop music on a new scale, becoming a much bigger hit worldwide than Kraftwerk or anything from the Bowie/Eno Berlin trilogy, and served as a link to several new musical forms that followed.
This 40th Anniversary Edition concentrates on the early recordings made prior to the completed album. The tracks have been sequenced as they appeared on the original tapes and the audio has been taken from the high resolution digital transfers.
Although roughed up at the edges by a mixture of paranoia and agression, "Warriors" is a fluently executed record, warmed by analogue electronics and often arranged to create a soothing, dreamlike ambience.
