"Lux Vindictae" veers between Post Punk, Darkwave and velvet black Goth, with songs about depression, rage, assault, alcoholism, the murder of an innocent child and the sheer horror of life on an alien feudal world.
MEM incorporate the sounds of Depeche Mode, Ultravox, The Chameleons and Marillion in a work of love, loss and the mental anguish derived thereof where one enters the twilight worlds of lovelorn protagonists, fighting with existential wants and needs.

Mark E Moon brings 80s infused Darkwave and Post Punk with Pop sensibilities. An orgy of shotgun drums, pulsing basslines, warm synths and cold guitars, all delivered with Sayle's trademark dark, crooning voice.
The most sonically enhanced album of Lanegan's career. Taking the textured walls of 2004's "Bubblegum" and reinforcing them with greater variety and tonal density, Lanegan and Johannes build a cathedral of sound that's mighty impressive.

A collaborative effort with the relatively obscure multi-instrumentalist Duke Garwood, who toured with The Gutter Twins and has worked with The Orb, Josh T. Pearson, Kurt Vile, and Wire. The nocturnal sounds here are no surprise.
At the time, The Screaming Trees had recently disbanded and Lanegan was in the early years of his solo offerings. The songs on "Houston" were written, recorded, then shelved. Until now, with this collection, which features 8 never-before-heard songs.
The singer for the Screaming Trees, Lanegan here choses to substitute his band's psychedelic yawp for the moody introspection of modern blues. His smooth croon transforms into an angry growl when the music turns stormy.
For his 2nd solo album, Lanegan decided to go wider and deeper. The arrangements are mostly acoustic and electric guitars, bass and drums, but the subtle addition of violin and saxophone makes for greater variance and gives the album a rich, epic scope.
Mark seems to have gone back through all his previous work, and taken the best elements from each to create one of the most accomplished albums of his career - a demonstration of his continued love of singer/songwriters and American folk and blues.
While sharing roots with its two predecessors, on "Gargoyle" there’s a significant up-shift in the swaggering powerlode of such keynote songs as "Nocturne" and "Beehive", while the lyrics’ tonal palette is more varied.
Lanegan tugs on the timeless threads that hold the patchwork of American music together by offering tenderly-delivered renditions of songs from a wide variety of songwriters, including Tim Rose, Tim Hardin, Booker T. Jones, or Buck Owens.
The final installment of a trilogy of albums (preceded by "The Winding Sheet" and "Whiskey for the Holy Ghost") which feature the songwriter’s interpretation of American roots music set to troubling lyrics that explore themes of loss, sin and redemption.

Analogue and dust flecked, "With Animals" sounds like Lanegan and Garwood have been holed up in a ’60s recording studio while the apocalypse rages outside. Tracks sit on loops with sparse melodies which nod to the likes of Burial or Boards of Canada.

From its opening bars, it’s clear that "Somebody’s Knocking" is an album made by someone deeply obsessed with how music – with all its primal, spiritual healing power – truly penetrates the soul.
15 songs inspired by Lanegan’s story, as documented by his own hand in his new memoir, Sing Backwards And Weep. "Straight Songs Of Sorrow" combines musical trace elements from early Mark Lanegan albums with the synthesized constructs of later work.
The 20th Anniversary of Mark Lanegan’s acclaimed 2004 album "Bubblegum", in a remastered and expanded edition which also includes "Here Comes That Weird Chill", with three bonus tracks, and an extra disc of demos and unreleased tracks.

"Whiskey for the Holy Ghost" is the second solo album from Lanegan, and builds upon the roots music foundation that he had established with "The Winding Sheet". These demos showcase Lanegan's process, and growing maturity as a songwriter and vocalist.

During the recording sessions, Mark and his stellar collaborators recorded enough material for two albums yet the final tracklist was significantly different. This is the first time his original vision for the record is presented!

A classic in Minimal Electro. Silent Signals going really dynamic whereas Martial Canterel is more into 1 take, less dynamic, more 'rough-diamond' style of minimal music.
The long-awaited debut album from Icelandic/US Black Metal ensemble Martröð is a deep, disturbing and cataclysmic work where swarming Black Metal bludgeon meets avant-Classical and psychotropic noise.
His first and probably only album. It contains material from the time before and immediately after the sought-after "Quarantine" EP and demonstrates why his music is treated as a highpoint in the Galakthorrö story. Really great, gloomy Angst Pop.
The first solo work by the mastermind behind Bad Sector is inspired by hypnagogic hallucinations in one long track full of drones, noises, distant voices, surrealistic soundscapes, fragmented sounds, for a real journey into the obscure side of the mind.
To inhabit/perform the poems of Gabriele Tinti is akin to the Sysiphian effort of rolling the stone, to be constantly thwarted in the goal. Márton Csókás narrates poetry by Tinti over soundscapes by Massimo Pupillo (Zu, Laniakea, Uruk, Zu93, etc.).

Matt Elliott's "Drinking songs" confirms his evolution to a tormented Folk, which owes as much to his Electronica roots as to his taste for Slavic & Eastern European music, with an emphasis on distant voices and ethereal ambiences.

Inspired by the ghosts of European folk music, Elliott's voice is often resigned but always expressive. The angry noise has all but abated, making way for more fragile melodies and a more subtle approach to intensity to immerse the listener.
